Dear Newton Community School District Families,

As we navigate through another promising school year, there are two pivotal matters I wish to highlight. First, the upcoming renewal for our Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) on the ballot this November 7th. Our video feature this week provides a comprehensive insight into PPEL's role in our district. These funds are more than a budget line – they ensure our facilities and equipment stay up-to-date and modernized, critical maintenance costs are covered, and our classrooms meet the high standards for learning we have set forth in the Newton Community School District.

PPEL is a cornerstone of our district’s budget and infrastructure. The proposal to extend the PPEL is not just about bricks, mortar, or tools—it's about ensuring a future where our students have access to the very best learning environments. Every penny of the PPEL is an investment in their future.

While infrastructure plays its role, the heartbeat of Newton Community School District lies with our educators. From the tireless teacher spending extra hours to help a student understand a complex topic, to the coach offering words of encouragement on a chilly evening, and the music instructor fostering the budding talent of a shy student—our educators go beyond their job descriptions every single day.

Their roles aren't just confined to teaching and grading; they're mentors, guides, listeners, and at times, the providers of a good-hearted chuckle. They embody the spirit of our district, and we are ever thankful for the warmth, dedication, and excellence they bring into our classrooms.

As we look to the future, let us remember that while levies and funds are crucial, it's the people—the educators, the support staff, and you, our valued community—that truly make the difference. By extending the PPEL and continuously supporting our educators, we pave the way for an educational experience that is both enriching and empowering.

Your involvement, feedback, and support are always valued. Together, we'll ensure that Newton Community School District remains a beacon of educational excellence for years to come.

Go Cardinals!
